Title: “Control approaches for ventilative cooling and indoor air quality systems in a school demo-building in Torre Pellice”.
Introduction: “This thesis is part of the European project E-DYCE, and it aims at implementing a control solution to remotely manage three different detached mechanical ventilation units installed in an E-DYCE school demo building in Torre Pellice. The main objective is to control indoor air quality and ventilation for cooling by comparing different control strategies (6 in total) that run in parallel over three units to find the optimal one, considering both environmental parameters and energy consumption. Control approaches for ventilative cooling are monitored by testing them in the school using SOAP to retrieve current conditions of rooms from Capetti sensors and Modbus to send control signals to mechanical ventilation units. Indoor air quality control strategies are simulated with the Energy Management System of EnergyPlus using calibrated models of actual rooms to obtain significant results.”
